School Absences

If your child will not be attending, or will be late, on a school day, please telephone the school on 476 3140, press 1 and leave a message on our voice mail. Alternatively, a message can be sent through our Skool Loop App, Wakari School.

The answer phone and app service is available 24 hours a day and checked each morning by 9.00am. Our intention is to account for every pupil of Wakari School by 9.30am.

We ask that parents take seriously the responsibility of letting the school know of any intended absence in advance. In addition to letting us know, we also ask that contact be made with your child’s teacher if the absence is for more than 5 days.

Please do NOT send sick children to school. This results in infection spreading, unhappy children, and additional work for office staff.

If you are unsure about your child’s health, consult your family doctor or look at the symptom checker.
