"Happy, Confident Learners"

About Us

Our Values

At Wakari School we promote our values of

Honesty, Manners, Respect, Cooperation & Kindness.

As a Family orientated school we promote and encourage parental involvement. This assistance is vital for the children’s education during their time with us. School Camps, trips, swimming and School Fairs would simply not be possible without the assistance that Whanau offer. Our school has a proud tradition of community involvement stretching back to 1858!

Our Vision and Aims

We have Three Syndicates across the School which operate in Learning Hubs. We aim to provide our pupils with the means to achieve their best in a caring, safe and secure environment. Wakari School benefits from a true team approach.

Principal Appointment Consultation
21 May 2026

Kia ora Wakari Primary School whānau,

As part of the process to appoint a new Principal for Wakari Primary School, the Board is seeking your input. Your voice is an important part of our community, and we value your perspective on the qualities, skills, and attributes you believe are important in our next leader.

We greatly appreciated the thoughtful engagement from our community during the 2022 process, and we hope you will once again take the opportunity to share your views.

We invite you to complete a short online questionnaire. All responses will remain anonymous and will help guide the Board in shaping the criteria for the appointment.

The questionnaire will be open for one week, as we intend to begin advertising the position in the coming weeks, before the end of Term Two.

Thank you for your time and for contributing to the future of our school.

Ngā mihi,
Jason Sargeant
