To achieve the best learning outcomes for students who may have learning and/or behavioural difficulties, school-based, RTLB teachers provide a resource for schools, principals and teachers.
Dunedin West RTLB works in fourteen schools in consultation with parents who will have
submitted signed referrals to the RTLB service. The referral is discussed at a RTLB Administration meeting and may be allocated to a RTLB or put on a waiting list.
The RTLB support the teacher to develop and evaluate a plan for the student’s learning/behaviour. In addition the RTLB liaise with other agencies, community organisations and provide resources
In consultation with parents or caregivers the RTLB refer to other agencies, assess identified needs and talk with the student.
